Radiant floor heat provides efficient, luxurious warmth for the home. The heat radiates upwards from the floor, heating objects and silently warming the room. Radiant heated floors are especially ideal for families with small children who spend much of their time playing on the floor. Unlike forced-air systems that blow warm air from vents that rises quickly, leaving the lower levels of the room cooler than the upper strata, radiant heat warms from the floor up. There is virtually no heat loss from these efficient systems, and the comfortable warmth is tough to beat.
Further adding to the efficiency of radiant heat is that an advanced thermostat can be used to control each room (or zone) separately, so you have the option to only heat the specific rooms where you spend most of your time. The floor heating system can also be programmed to match your schedule. The system can be activated shortly before you wake up on weekday mornings so that it is warm as you get ready for work. Then, the system can be programmed to shut off as you leave for work. The system can activate once again just before you return home in the evening. A separate schedule can be programmed for the weekends. Another benefit is that the radiant floor heating systems provide efficient room heating and reduce the transmission of dust, allergens and other airborne particulate matter associated with forced-air systems.
Different floor heating systems are designed for heating under certain floor types, so Warmzone® offers a large selection of heating elements and systems to best meet your floor heating needs. Additionally, Warmzone includes unmatched installation support and customer support services to further ensure a successful installation and satisfied customers. While Warmzone maintain relationships with experienced installers throughout the country, we also offer free installation training for future installers – or those who simply want to brush up on their skills. This helps to ensure that homeowners not only receive the best system, but that the system is installed correctly and performing as expected.
ComfortTile floor heating systems offer the premium performance expected from an industry leader. The floor heating cable is just ⅛-inch in diameter and is available off the spool – which is ideal for heating custom shaped areas – or pre-spaced on a durable adhesive-backed flexible mesh mat. The mat can be quickly rolled out for easy, convenient installation. The floor warming mats heat an area 24-inches wide, are pre-terminated for use with 120 and 240 volts, and are available in a variety of lengths.
The ComfortTile floor heating system is a proven industry leader and Warmzone’s most popular floor heating solution. The thin floor heating cable is just ⅛-inch in diameter so there is very little floor buildup. While the versatile ComfortTile heat cable can be used to heat a variety of floor types, it is especially effective for heating tile, marble and slate floors.
For well over a decade, ComfortTile floor heating systems have been keeping Denver residents toasty and warm. The reliable systems are maintenance free and come with a 25-year warranty. Available off the spool or pre-spaced on a durable adhesive-backed flexible mesh mat, ComfortTile is easy to install. The floor heating mats heat an area 24-inches wide and can be rolled out for quick, easy installation. The ComfortTile mats are pre-terminated for use with 120 and 240 volts, and are available in a variety of lengths.
In-Slab floor heating systems feature twin-conductor, single-point connection heat cable designed for installation in concrete slabs. Because of the rigorous demands of concrete pours, the In-Slab cable is constructed to withstand the demands of heavy concrete pours, and features a protective copper metal sheath and fluoropolymer conductor insulation with a polyolefin outer sheath. Designed to produce 10-15 watts per square foot, In-Slab cable is also waterproof, so it is safe for use in both wet and dry applications.
In preparation of most concrete pours, remesh/rebar is installed in the area to receive the concrete. The In-Slab heat resistance cable is then laid out over the area and secured to the remesh/rebar (using zip ties). The remesh is supported (lifted off the ground) by plastic Mesh-Up support chairs to keep the cable within about 1½-2 inches from the concrete’s finished surface. In-Slab heat cable is the premier radiant floor heating solution for concrete slab applications in both custom residential and commercial radiant heat projects. Concrete slabs retain warmth for long periods of time; even after the heating system has been turned off, so the In-Slab floor heating system is a particularly efficient option for heating basement floors. The cable carries a 10-year warranty.
The Prodeso® floor heating system is a unique system that consists of a polypropylene uncoupling and waterproofing membrane. This type of system is especially beneficial when installing radiant heat in difficult subfloors without movement or expansion joints in the screed. The membrane is only ¼-inch (5.5mm) in height and has square shaped reliefs with rounded corners that form channels for the heat cable, making the system quick and easy to install.
The flexible sheets of membrane are placed over the floor before the finished surface is laid. ComfortTile cable is recommended for installation in Prodeso systems. The cable is secured and spaced in the channels, ensuring proper spacing and installation.
The membrane can be used for heating virtually all types of floors, indoors and out. It is safe under all conditions and in all weather. It even waterproofs the substrate in the case of overlaying on cracked or imperfectly cured floors with a risk of vapor stress. It is designed to ensure maximum flexibility, protection and safety inside and outside the home.
An ideal choice for heating hardwood floors, the FloorHeat STEP heating system features a thin, low-voltage semi-conductive polyethylene heating element. The flexible heating panel can be rolled out for simple installation and is safe and effective to install under most floor types. The innovative system also includes an advanced thermostat and step-down transformer(s).
Because the polymer heating element is so thin no floor buildup is required, and it won't affect your weight loads. This, along with FloorHeat STEP’s self-regulating properties, prevent the heating element from overheating, making it ideal for heating hardwood floors.
During installation the 12-inch wide heating element can be nailed and stapled through, speeding up the installation process. The system can be installed in new construction as well as renovation projects. By accessing the floor joists from below, homeowners can heat existing floors with FloorHeat. The heating element is stapled up between the joists and batt insulation is then applied to direct all the heat upward.
The durable, lightweight heating panels can be cut to size and field wired on the job site. (The heating element is durable and versatile and is also commonly used for roof de-icing applications. The element is installed under the roof shingles and can also be used to heat metal roofs.)
Low voltage FloorHeat STEP is available for 120V, 208V or 240V systems. There are no high-temperatures, stress, or wear on the heating element, and it comes with a 20-year warranty.
This unique, paper-thin heating element (0.016-inch thick) is remarkably effective for heating laminate floors. In addition to the heating element, the FilmHeat under-floor heating system consists of connection materials and a unique digital thermostat that includes a 16-amp GFCI breaker and floor sensor for accurate programming. Needless to say, this radiant heat solution requires no floor buildup, and is one of the best values for heating laminate floors.
The heating panels are cut to their proper length onsite and then secured to the subfloor. Electrical connections are then made and the laminate floor is installed directly over the panels.
The RetroHeat floor heating system also utilizes these thin heating panels that are stapled up between the floor joists to provide heat for existing floors. (This is regarded by most as the best solution for heating existing floors.) After securing the heating panels, Batt insulation is applied to direct all of the heat to the floor above. This is perhaps the most affordable and efficient way to add radiant heat to an existing floor. FilmHeat floor heating panels are UL, ETL, NEMKO and CE listed and EMC certified for safety. The floor heating system carries a 10-year warranty.
